Plugin Doesn't Appear in Available Devices

Description

One or more installed VST plugins is not present in Sibelius's "Available Devices" list.

Solution

Missing VST plugins generally mean that although installed, the files are not present in the folder Sibelius is scanning for plugins. The plugin install location may vary from system to system depending on whether the default location was used or you specified an alternate location while installing the software.

Wherever your plugins have been installed, the default Sibelius VST Plugin folders (where the plugins should be copied) are as follows:

Sibelius 5 and Sibelius 6

32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Sibelius Software\VSTPlugins\
64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Sibelius Software\VSTPlugins\

Sibelius 7 (32-bit)

32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Avid\VSTPlugins\
64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Avid\VSTPlugins\

Sibelius 7 (64-bit)

64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Avid\VSTPlugins\
